Join me on an unforgettable adventure as I hit the road from Durango to Denver for the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) – one of the biggest and most epic beer festivals in the world! 🎉
It all started with a simple invitation from my neighbor, Patrick, who casually mentioned GABF. Naturally, how could I say no? So, I packed up for a 6-hour drive through Colorado’s stunning La Plata Mountains, cruising over the iconic Wolf Creek Pass. Trust me, the views were worth the journey alone! 🌄
Once we arrived, it was time to get into the Oktoberfest spirit! I threw on my lederhosen (you know, real Oktoberfest style) and joined the team at Carver Brewing – my absolute favorite brewery in Durango. 🍻 We were pouring brews with the best of ’em, sharing some amazing craft beer with fellow beer lovers from all over the nation and beyond.
And let me tell you – this festival is huge. We’re talking thousands of beers, from sours to stouts, pilsners to pale ales, and everything in between. Seriously, it’s impossible to taste them all… but I sure tried! 😅
Beyond just the beers, the whole atmosphere was a celebration. The costumes, the music, the awards – everything felt like one giant party. And it wasn’t just about the festival; the entire community of breweries was in on the fun, with locals celebrating every craft brew under the sun. 🍺🎶
On my way back home, I made a pit stop in Golden, Colorado, to explore their amazing trail system – because why not add some adventure to the road trip? 🚴♂️
